An open letter to my students:

Welcome to 2010!  I want to share with all my friends, family and students the many blessings I have been given as a student of yoga.  I am filled with gratitude to all my wonderful teachers who have helped guide me along the spiritual path of life and encouraged me to teach and practice yoga with a heart open to grace guided along the wings of the breath.  I especially want to thank my husband Charles for his financial support in my endeavors along the spiritual path I have found my life taking.  My son Dylan and his Grandmother Gay have been wonderfully supportive of my many hours and time away from home studying yoga with my teachers and students.  In particular I would like to thank my students at the Tualatin Grange Hall for their patience and compassion while I was learning to teach and will love them dearly for coming back to my class over and over again as I practiced my new teaching voice with them.  One other group of students has changed my teaching style forever, and I will never be able to thank them enough, the residents of the Portland VOA Men’s Residential Center have given me great joy and gave my teaching wings into existential flight.  The openness and warmth of the students at the VOA to embrace yoga with enthusiasm amidst serious adversity is lovely.  I also would like to thank Amy and Nancy of Living Yoga for all they do.  I am eternally grateful to my teachers Luciana Proano and Sarahjoy Marsh for bringing light and sweetness to so many people and helping me to see that kindness explodes exponentially outward and all around you!

Love and Grace to you,

Kate
